12 Month Check-Up

We had ava's 12 month check-up yesterday! She weighed 23 lbs. 11 oz. and was 29" long. She is in the 75% on her weight and in the 50% on her height. She was also CLEARED from her R.S.V. (yippee!) so she is able to be around anyone & everyone again! Dr. Champlin was very impressed with what she is capable of. She can wave bye-bye & hello, give "high 5", point to the green frog in her favorite book (Brown Bear, Brown Bear), she can grab Momma's nose when you ask her "Where's Momma's nose?", & even took 8 steps ALL BY HERSELF on Tuesday! She had to get 2 shots in her arms yesterday, also. She didn't even flinch on the first one, but the second one stung pretty good, poor kid. THEN we had to go over to the Hospital to have her blood drawn to make sure she wasn't Anemic (which they check at this age now). They called us back today & she is NOT Anemic, so that's good. She is off the bottles & formula (YEAH!) and drinking whole milk from her sippy cup (which she loves) and only has table foods (her favorite fruit this week is Blueberrries)! It is so nice to cook a meal & have ALL of us eat it! We love watching her grow & learn all these new things! It is amazing how she can observe something & then do it herself so quickly! She was such a brave girl yesterday, her Daddy gave her some ice cream when she got home!
