Lights & Sirens & Pizza, Oh My!

We got to visit Central Fire Station today with Playgroup! We got to see where the firemen sleep, eat, & hang out. Not to mention visit the fire trucks, too! The kids all had such a good time....until the fireman giving the tour put his turn-outs on. They were all fine with the boots, jacket, pants, but when he put his mask & breathing tank on, TALK ABOUT SOME SCAREDY CATS! Literally, all of them started asking for their Momma's, crying, one even had to go to the restroom she was so scared! Ava was going "Momma! Momma! Hold me!" & she was okay once I picked her up, but she did NOT want to go near him! Meanwhile, he's telling all of them "Now, if you're in a fire & I come in to get you, don't be afraid. I'm here to help!"

Sure, that calmed 'em down....

They did all get to go inside the fire truck & see what it was like. They also turned all the lights on (luckily they didn't turn on the sirens, ha). Ava's favorite part (besides the hat & goodie bag) was getting to go through the truck! She didn't want to get out of there! We all lunched at Larry's Pizza afterwards & let me just tell ya'...it was good :)
