Tuesday : NYC

Tuesday was a little colder, but the rain was not as bad & actually cleared up by the end of the day! We went down to the Financial District, which is where Ground Zero is. It is still just a big concrete hole they are trying to rebuild. The whole area down there is still so "affected", you can tell the buildings that had damage & there are a few pieces left purposefully. It is amazing to see the size of where the Twin Towers stood & all of the surrounding buildings that are still there, untouched it seems. We also went over to Battery Park (which is at the very tip of Manhattan-where you can see the Statue of Liberty)! We did not ride the boat out to see Ms. Liberty (heaven FORBID I get motion sickness again!), but did get to snap some pics from the pier. We also made a trip down Wall Street & got to see the New York Stock Exchange. I got to stand on the steps where George Washington took his oath as the First President, I thought that was pretty cool. It really is a very historic city, even with all the fancy amenities, & that's what I really liked the most - all the history. That evening, we walked down 5th, Madison, & Park Avenue & came up on Rockefeller Plaza (where the Christmas Tree usually is). We had dinner at some swanky little restaurant between 5th & Madison (I was not impressed - I would've rather had Pizza). We did get to have dessert at Serendipity 3 -yum-o frozen hot chocolate!
