Pumpkin Patch

Saturday we headed out to the Pumpkin Patch - it was a big kick-off weekend there & Em's friend's family owns it, so of course we had to go join in the fun!

Here are all the kiddo's with some scarecrows.

Here is Em's friend, Nick, letting Ava pet a sweet little bunny rabbit, awww!

This turkey was BIG - it tried to eat my child. Seriously. We told her to turn around & back up just a little bit to get her pic with this blue-headed monster & it tried to bite her! Needless to say, she backed away from it & said "It scare me!"

Here's Tutu sitting pretty on some pumpkins!

Cousins! :)

Nick also got this baby goat out of it's cage for Ava to pet! A little known fact: D.Might would have taken it home in a heartbeat if he could. He's all about having goats at the house - especially those of the fainting type. (Which for the record - this little goat was not :)

They also let this cow out to roam a little - Ava had to get her hands on it! She probably would've rode it if they had let her :)

Okay, so this little contraption actually makes Sorghum - how cool is that?! The kiddo's are pushing that large stick in a circle (which is usually done by a mule, mind you) & Nick is feeding cane through the little contraption. On the other side, you get the thin sugary Sorghum, which can then be heated to make Sorghum like you eat on rolls or crackers. I thought it was pretty neat!
Look at that big girl - 3 feet tall!

I must say, if you do go to the Pumpkin Patch, a guided tour is the only way to go! It was so neat to get to pet all the animals & hear about how things work on the farm. We also went on a little hayride, but I didn't snap any good pics, I was just trying not to lean to hard on the little railing - afraid I'd fall right off. We did get some little pumpkins, hopefully to be painted later, but will go back for our Jack-O-Lantern's closer to Halloween! All in all - another fun family outing!
